Chaitra Navratri is celebrated for nine days, each day dedicated to a different form of the Goddess Durga. Here's a brief overview of the significance of each day:
Day 1: Prati Pada - The first day of Navratri is dedicated to Shail Putri, the daughter of the mountains. She is considered the embodiment of the power of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.!
Day 2: Dwitiya - On the second day, devotees' worship Brahmacharini, the goddess of penance and devotion. She symbolizes the power of love and loyalty.
Day 3: Tritiya - The third day is dedicated to Chandaghanta, the goddess who wears a half-moon on her forehead. She represents bravery and courage.
Day 4: Chaturthi - On the fourth day, devotees worship Kushmanda, the goddess of prosperity and happiness. She is believed to bring light into darkness.
Day 5: Panchami - Skand Mata, the mother of Lord Skanda or Kartikeya, is worshipped on the fifth day. She represents the power of motherhood and protection.

माँ दुर्गा अपने पहले स्वरूप में 'शैलपुत्री' पुत्री हिमालय के नाम से जानी जाती है।
वृषभ-स्थिता माँ के दाहिने हाथ में त्रिशूल और बायें हाथ में कमल-पुष्प सुशोभित है।
प्रथम दिन शैलपुत्री का ध्यान मूलाधार में लगाकर मन्त्र जप करें।

ॐ शां शीं शूं शैलपुत्र्यै मे शुभं
कुरू कुरू कुरू स्वाहा ||

However, her father was against their union and insulted Lord Shiva. Unable to bear the insult, Sati immolated herself in a sacrificial fire in her next life, Sati was born as Parvati, the daughter of the mountains. She again fell in love with Lord Shiva and finally married him. As Shail Putri, she is worshipped for her purity, devotion, and strength.
2. Brahmacharini: The second form of Goddess Durga

नवदुर्गा का दुसरा स्वरूप 'ब्रह्मचारिणी' है। 'ब्रह्म' शब्द का अर्थ तपस्या है। ब्रह्मचारिणी अर्थात् तप का आचरण करनेवाली। इन देवी का स्वरूप पूर्ण ज्योतिर्मय एवं भव्य है। इनके दाहिने हाथ में जप की माला एवं बाए हाथ में कण्डलु है। यह भगवती का स्वरूप भक्तों और सिद्धों को अनन्त फल देने वाला है।
इनकी उपासना करने से शिवयोगी में तप, त्याग, वैराग्य,
सदाचार, संयम की वृद्धि होती है। नवरात्री के दूसरे दिन साधक अपने स्वाधिष्ठान चक्र में ध्यान कर मन्त्र जप करें।

In her next life, she was born as Parvati and then took on the form of Brahmacharini.

माँ दुर्गा की तीसरी शक्ति चन्द्रघण्टा है। इनका स्वरूप परम् शक्तिदायक और कल्याणकारी है। इनके मस्तक में घण्टे के आकार का अर्धचन्द्र है। सिंह सवार देवी का शरीर स्वर्ण भाँती चमकीला है। इनकी साधना से शिवयोगी समस्त सांसारिक कष्ठों से विमुक्त होकर परम् पद की ओर अग्रसर होता है।
मणिपुर चक्र में देवी का ध्यान करते हुए मन्त्र हनका जप करें।

माँ दुर्गा का चौथा स्वरूप कुष्माण्डा है। भगवति द्वारा अण्ड अर्थात् ब्रह्माण को उत्पन्न करने के कारण इन्हें 'कुष्माण्डा देवी कहते हैं। माँ की साधना सहज भाव से भक्तों को भवसागर से पार करती है।
माँ की साधना से आधियों-व्याधियों से सर्वथा विमुक्त हो सुख, समृद्धि और उन्नति को प्राप्त होता है। लौकिक पारलौकिक उन्नति देने वाली मन्त्र का जप अनाहत चक्र में ध्यान करते हुए जप करना चाहिए।

भगवति का पाँचवा स्वरूप 'स्कन्दमाता' है। भगवान स्कन्द (कुमार कार्तिकेय) की माता होने के कारण माँ पार्वति, माँ दुर्गा का यह स्वरूप स्कन्दमाता के नाम से जाना जाता है।
साधक सप्तशति साधना करने के पश्चात् विशुद्धि चक्र पर ध्यान केन्द्रित कर कमल आसन पर विराजमान पूर्णतः शुभ्र वर्ण सिंह जिनका वाहन है, माँ स्कन्दमाता का ध्यान करते हुए मन्त्र जप करें।

माँ भगवति का छठा स्वरूप 'कात्यायनी' है। महर्षि कत्यायन की पुत्री। अमोघ फलदायनी माँ कात्यायनी है।
शिव योगी दश भुजी माँ कात्यायनी का ध्यान आज्ञा चक्र में कर समर्पण भाव से माँ कात्यायनी का ध्यान कर मन्त्र जपे ।
सहज भाव वाले साधक को देवी दर्शन होते हैं। और वह आलौकिक तेज़ युक्त हो जाता हैं।

माँ दुर्गा की सातवीं शक्ति को 'कालरात्रि' कहते हैं। अत्यन्त भयानक स्वरूप वाली कालरात्रि, सदैव शुभ फल देने वाली है।
इसलिए माँ को शुभंकरी भी कहते हैं। माँ साधक को भय मुक्त कर, ग्रह बाधाओं को दूर करती हुई, दुष्टों का विनाश करती है। सातवें दिन शिव योगी अपने सहस्रार चक्र में माँ कालरात्रि का ध्यान करते हुए मन्त्र जप करें।
